Overland Airways will be introducing two additional routes to its existing network in furtherance of its vision to create more direct links for travelers in the northern region of the country transiting from the hinterland to key trade centres for business and leisure purposes.

The new operations, which will offer connecting flights from Jos to Kano and return, and from Jos to Abuja and return, Mondays to Fridays, effective 3rd December, 2009, will mark the third station launched by Overland Airways in the Northern region within the last one month.

Overland Airways will operate on the Jos-Kano-Jos and Jos-Abuja-Jos routes with its state-of-the-art B1900D and ATR-42 aircraft.

Flights to Kano will depart Jos Airport at 10:15am and arrive Kano Airport at 11:10am; while flights depart Kano Airport at 11:30am to arrive Jos Airport at 12:20pm.

Also, flights to Abuja will depart Jos Airport at 12:30pm and arrive Abuja 1:10pm, and return flights depart Abuja Airport at 9:30am to arrive Jos Airport at 10:10am.

Core among Overland Airways' route expansion objectives is to improve interconnectivity within the Northern region, promote economic growth and facilitate the speed of business transactions. These new routes will boost the development drives witnessed in the Northern region and support other private initiatives geared at improving the socio-economic lives of the people.

The Northern region is an important area in the Overland Airways expansion programme which the airline sees as having immense potentials for growth and which should be well harnessed with efficient connectivity with other economic nerve centres in the country.

According to the Chief Operating Officer of Overland Airways, Mrs. Aanu Benson, who spoke concerning the Jos operations, “The introduction of these premium Business Flyer flight services will assist business travelers to achieve much more now as there are the direct flights to Kano and Abuja. It is also the positive response of Overland Airways to the increasing demand by our esteemed customers in the northern region who have been requesting for flight services.”

“The Jos-Kano-Jos and Jos-Abuja-Jos flight services are convenient, comfortable and value-added and specially designed by Overland Airways at this point for air travelers on these routes”, she added.
